Catalyst Telecom helps new Avaya SMBS solution providers
Catalyst Telecom, a sales unit of ScanSource Inc., has created the Catalyst Accelerator Program (CAP), a comprehensive one-day program designed for solution providers who are interested in delivering communications solutions to their end-user customers. As Avaya's largest distributor, Catalyst Telecom created CAP to help solution providers become more knowledgeable on selling Avaya's Small and Medium Business Solutions (SMBS) communications applications, a key element for solution providers looking to become more competitive. With CAP, solution providers will learn about the benefits of adding Avaya's powerful SMBS communications solutions to their product offering and how Avaya can help them win over the competition. Solution providers will also hear about the valuable services Catalyst Telecom can offer their businesses, such as e-commerce solutions, customized marketing tools, and in-depth training and bootcamp opportunities. What's more, attendees who become authorized to sell Avaya's solutions will receive additional benefits, such as discounts on demo equipment, and will be eligible for a credit line with Catalyst Telecom.

NEC Corporation (NEC) and The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Limited, the owner and operator of five-star luxury hotels, The Peninsula Hotels, in Asia and North America announced the deployment of an integrated voice and data VoIP network system linking The Peninsula Hotels' fourteen hotels and offices worldwide. This globally-connected VoIP network is the first ever built in the hotel industry. The Peninsula Hotels' global VoIP network was mainly built by upgrading software, which incorporates NEC's IP Networking functionalities into NEC's IP-PBX. The IP connectivity is used in the hotel's fourteen locations including the hotels in Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok, Beijing, New York, Chicago and Beverly Hills. This network system was designed and built with a minimal initial investment and completed in a short time.
