SIP trunking
Why SIP Trunking for SMBs?
Small to medium sized businesses (SMBs) are continually looking for ways to increase profit margins while keeping up with technology and efficiently communicating within their infrastructure as well as with suppliers, partners and customers. SIP Trunking is an attractive and viable cost-saving move for SMBs because it offers several tangible opportunities to increase profits. The reduction in cost per minute for communication provided by SIP Trunking gives SMBs an almost immediate return on their investment when compared to traditional TDM delivery. For example, the cost of one SIP Trunk is about $20 per month as compared to the typical analog line which is usually twice that. Once the SMB realizes the economic advantages of SIP Trunking, monies can be redirected to other expenditures within the company.

BroadSoft launches VoIP mash-up with salesforce.com
BroadSoft, Inc. announced that it has completed a "mash-up" of its BroadWorks VoIP application platform with salesforce.com, the market and technology leader in on-demand business services. The new joint solution will enable enterprise users to integrate the BroadWorks VoIP platform directly into salesforce.com's customer relationship management (CRM) applications, allowing users to access click-to-dial, recorded-call logging and other advanced voice features. By introducing a computer telephony integration (CTI) connector for the BroadWorks platform, Salesforce users can now fully integrate with the BroadWorks-based phone system. This enables enterprises to use their carrier-grade VoIP calling features—such as call control, call hold and call transfer—in conjunction with the customer relationship management features in salesforce.com. Additionally, BroadWorks end-users can automatically capture and manage detailed logs of all calls from within salesforce.com to track interactions with customers. The integration also automatically opens a caller's salesforce.com contact record when the user receives an incoming call.

White Papers & Market Perspectives
Asentria within the Service Provider Ecosystem
Organizations today depend upon their networks to increase productivity and reduce network infrastructure and maintenance costs. Accordingly, these networks must be secure and perform reliably in order to accommodate geographically dispersed users. Unplanned remote site downtime due to equipment failure or adverse environmental conditions can severely impair network service. There is a growing need for diverse network services that are supported with cellular towers, microwave sites, broadband wireless towers and other remote facilities. Business customers are looking to service providers to support their remote computer and telephony rooms with customer premise equipment. In both cases, environmental conditions and power and equipment failures are major causes of unplanned network downtime. IT professionals responsible for providing high availability networks are becoming increasingly aware of the need to protect these vital, yet vulnerable remote sites.
